Redwood Grove Wedding at the UC Botanical Gardens
A Unique Berkeley Hills Wedding
It was a wedding photographer's dream: a great couple in love, a stunning redwood grove ceremony, a crowd that knows how to party, and the perfect blend of traditions and individuality. With its lush landscapes and rich biodiversity, UC Botanical Gardens offers couples an unparalleled backdrop to say “I do.” This summer wedding in Berkeley's Tilden Park starred Nicole in a stunning non-traditional teal wedding dress (with matching engagement ring) and a levitating Jesse, buoyed by his co-gender entourage of comedians, including his twin brother.
A Wedding Ceremony in a Redwood Forest
Imagine a Chuppah adorned in red dahlias, surrounded by redwood trees and your favorite people. Called the Mather Redwood Grove, this serene spot set the perfect stage for a ceremony of heartfelt vows, a communal ring blessing, and the Jewish tradition of breaking the glass. The overcast skies added a mystical touch, making the colors of the day pop vividly against the greenery. The bridesmaids all wore white in contrast to the bride's teal gown.
This is the perfect wedding venue for nature enthusiasts wanting an outdoor wedding with an indoor reception. The spacious amphitheater makes it suitable for weddings with a high guest count, making it top on my list of redwood wedding venues.
A Plant Lover's Dream: Wedding Portraits in a Succulent Garden
For a photographer, a wedding here is a visual delight. The juxtaposition of Nicole's unique teal dress against the natural beauty of the cacti and succulent gardens creates beautiful and fun wedding portraits. They say a couple that laughs together stays together, and I think this is a love story destined to stand the test of time.
Party Time: A wedding reception hosted by burners
The couple hosted their reception in the Julia Morgan Hall with the tables set with white and red linens. Think exposed beams, a spacious deck, and a vibe that’s intimate and rustic. The toasts were a celebration of creativity and included an impromptu song from the groom and a hula hoop performance from the maid of honor. The dance floor was lit with sets played by DJ friends of the couple.
An Unforgettable UC Berkeley Botanical Garden Wedding
Nicole and Jesse’s UC Botanical Gardens celebration was vibrant and personal, combining the beauty of nature, DIY brilliance, community participation, and a touch of enchantment. As a documentary wedding photographer, these extra touches of personalization give me deeper insight into what the couple is about, guiding the image storyline to deliver a wedding gallery that is not only beautiful, but a meaningful time capsule into the time they married their lives together.
