FAQ

Where are you based? Do you travel?

I live in the vibrant heart of San Francisco, CA. My service area is the greater Bay Area as well as Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, Santa Cruz, Big Sur, and Monterrey. I LOVE photographing destination weddings and elopements worldwide! My passport is always ready and I am happy to fly wherever your love story is taking you to capture the intimate moments of your wedding day. Extra points for anywhere with a beach or my bucket list destinations of Iceland, Turkey, Myanmar, and Egypt.

How long have you been a San Francisco wedding photographer? How did you get started?

I started my wedding photography business in 2014 after a dear friend asked me to photograph her West Coast wedding. The excitement and anticipation, the challenge of the fast pace, the beautiful moments, and the intentionality of the details...I was hooked. I already enjoyed taking documentary-style images for events, but the added elegance and raw emotion of a wedding day creates an opportunity for artistic photos that are truly timeless. I continued photographing art wedding imagery at beautiful venues all over California, and in 2015 I became a full time professional photographer.

What's your photography package pricing for Northern California weddings?

My standard wedding package base price is $4800 for an 8 hour wedding day with under 150 guests. Unlimited customizations are available depending on your unique wedding, and I offer many add on wedding photography services such as a second photographer, wedding videography, wedding content creation, custom albums, print packages, engagement sessions, and more. You can learn more about my pricing here, including options for elopement photography, micro weddings, weekend wedding campouts, and ceremonies at San Francisco City Hall.

Do you photograph SF elopements or San Francisco City Hall weddings?

As a professional elopement photographer, I have photographed over 100 weddings at San Francisco City Hall! I provide documentary-style coverage of Bay Area elopements and have special packages for these unique wedding events. See my step-by-step guide to City Hall weddings and tell me about your elopement plan for a custom quote.

You must know all the best photography spots in San Francisco, right?

I an endlessly inspired by the sparkling natural light, dramatic fog, lush coastal trees, and gorgeous architecture of San Francisco. I am happy to make suggestions for my top photo locations for elopements, engagement sessions, and more.

Can we meet you?

Definitely! I love meeting either face to face or virtually to answer any questions you have and get comfortable with each other before your wedding. It also gives me a chance to learn more about your wedding and what's most important to the two of you as an engaged couple, which helps me to personalize your experience to my photography style. We can meet at my photography studio in Emeryville, at my favorite coffee shop near the Panhandle in San Francisco or via Zoom/Facetime.

What's your booking process?

Once you've decided to book me as your documentary wedding photographer, I'll send you a contract to sign electronically and you'll pay a 50% deposit. You'll also get a wedding questionnaire to fill out covering the logistical information of your wedding day and helping me get to know the two of you as a couple. Then, we'll schedule a virtual or in person meeting to go over the timeline, your special requests, and make a game plan for your big day.

Before your wedding we'll always have an open line of communication to stay updated of any changes. If you are working with a planner, I will make sure to interact with them as well to ensure we're all on the same page.

How many photos do we receive?

For an 8 hour wedding I deliver a minimum of 500 edited images. This may seem like a lot of photos, and it is! You'll be surprised at how many candid photos I take without anyone noticing. I keep a low profile during most of the day as I'm looking to get candid shots of real emotions, unstaged and uninterrupted. The pictures will be delivered in a user friendly, curated online gallery where you can view and download them.

In what format do you deliver the images?

The photos are in high quality JPEG format. You will be able to download the files in both full resolution and web-size. The high resolution images are suitable for large scale printing. I shoot with a 45.7 megapixel camera which in my professional experience makes for optimal quality.

Are the photos edited?

Yes, the photos delivered are fully edited for light, color, and crop for a consistent look throughout your gallery.

What if we want prints from our wedding photos?

You can order beautiful prints of your artistic portraits right through your digital gallery, and I also offer fine art printing services a la carte for your wedding gallery and engagement photos.

Do you make wedding albums and photo books?

Yes, I offer professional printing services and make custom albums with a local printer. I love making photo albums and highly encourage all of my couples to get one. It is truly a portal to the unforgettable experience of your wedding to revisit the moments through photography. You'll look at the printed images far more often than you will a digital gallery, reliving the genuine moments, authentic emotions, and connecting to the loving feelings that brought you two together. It's like a time capsule back to the best day ever.

What are the advantages of having two photographers?

The great thing about working as a wedding photography team is being able to cover everything simultaneously, even when things are happening in different locations. More talented photographers means more beautiful photos and raw emotions captured. Every photographer has their own style of creative photography, and when we have more time and space to capture your event we are able to provide artistic wedding images without missing any of the action. There is also the benefit of seamless storytelling. Your wedding is the story of two people, and each of you are having different moments. The dance of the action happening and the emotional reaction is where the magic really happens. Having two professional wedding photographers working together means we can capture the meaningful moment the couple is having and the real moments your guests are having witnessing you.

All of the photographers and videographers I work with on my team are carefully curated and come with a unique wedding photography style. I only work with experienced photographers who I trust to document the fleeting moments of your wedding. Working with these skilled wedding photographers ensures we'll get the perfect photo to return to these candid moments for years to come.

Can we add hours after we've booked you?

Absolutely. I know that sometimes things come up — the cake is later than expected, someone plans a special surprise — so I'm flexible. Additional hours can be purchased in advance ( I offer 4 hour packages, 8 hour packages, and 10 hour packages) or on the fly the day-of. The most important thing is that every special moment of your big night is captured, so just ask and we'll work something out.
