June Wedding at The Outdoor art Club in Mill Valley
This summer wedding in the redwoods at Old Mill Park and The Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley, CA is giving me seriously dreamy faerie vibes. From the bride’s cascading Ines Di Santo ball gown with dazzling vintage touches to a brass band leading a parade from ceremony to reception, the details were unique, personal, and unforgettable.
The day started with the bride and groom getting ready at separate Air bnbs in the hills of Mill Valley, featuring vaulted ceilings and large windows with views of Mt. Tamalpais. After the bride slipped on her stunning Dolce and Gabbana shoes we headed to Old Mill Park for the first look and ceremony. If you haven’t been to this park, I highly recommend you check it out. It’s a gem of a forest right within the bustling town of Mill Valley in Marin County. Just a step off the main road and you’re brought into a quiet and soothing forest, complete with old growth trees, a stream, and trails. We found a corner of the park where we had privacy along Old Mill Creek and the couple got to see each other for the first time surrounded by ancient redwoods and the sounds of children laughing on the playground adjacent our little oasis. After the first look I took some portraits of them with the big trees that I hope will be with them for a lifetime.
After portrait session we met up with the wedding party, family, and guests for a redwood ceremony right in the park. A brass band led the processional as the the bride walked down the aisle escorted by her two dads in matching Hawaiin shirts. The couple shared their own vows to each other under a Chuppah and concluded the ceremony with a kiss and the Jewish tradition of breaking the glass.
When the ceremony was over, a parade through the town of Mill Valley to The Outdoor Art Club began as the brass band played a series of celebratory songs. Cars honked in congratulations and when we arrived at the reception venue the bride and groom were lifted up in chairs for the Horah. This venue offers a stunning backdrop for couples seeking a nature-inspired venue near San Francisco. It’s rustic charm and serene surroundings make it an ideal choice for those wanting a redwood reception venue that is easily accessible from the city (just 20 minutes away).
The main lodge is rustic and beautiful, with a dark wood interior and sunlight streaming through the many windows. It’s high ceilings and open layout make it at once elegant and cozy, a classically Marin County combination setting the stage for a night of toasts, dancing, and magical moments. Lally Events added their signature flare in bringing in an assortment of living plants in simple white pots and combining them with pillar candles to decorate the reception space. Cocktails from the bar, appetizers, and a family style dinner completed this memorable wedding.
